Welcome Back!

Now that summer has ended, I would like to welcome you and your child back to our 2016-2017 school year at Calahan Community Charter. For those of you who do not know me, I am Mr. Si, your child’s 3rd grade teacher. Your child will be learning the required 3rd grade curriculum according to the California Common Core state standards. This means that our 3rd grade class will cover language arts, math, science, social studies, health, and art. In addition, we will cover physical education as well as performing arts. As for homework, students will complete the weekly reading log, practice language arts skills, work on math concepts, learn to utilize reading comprehension strategies, and occasionally create STEAM projects. I will elaborate more as the school year progresses. I just wanted to say that with your help and support, your child will gain a well-rounded and productive learning experience. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at (818) 886-4612 or email me at rsi1@lausd.net.
